Empowering Dreams: The Transition Academy Sparks Career Dreams with Virtual Reality Experience Through Partnership with the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development
"You can't be what you can't see." - Marian Wright Edelman
The Transition Academy is taking a pioneering leap into the future with an innovative approach to career exploration. In partnership with the Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development, our students were able to explore different career fields using VR goggles. Our students used the goggles as a gateway to different career paths in industries such as construction or various medical fields.
Our first experience with the VR goggles took place at Crossroads Preparatory Academy in September. One student used the goggles to experience what it was like to be an EMT rescuing someone and afterward, she was in awe of the experience saying “I was in another world.”
“This is an important step to helping them realize what they want to do,” said Kim Riley, TTA CEO, “it's important for our students to see themselves in careers, to see themselves successful, and then to walk towards those dreams.”
This exciting initiative is part of The Transition Academy's commitment to providing students with a dynamic and immersive experience that transcends traditional methods of career guidance.
